Trifecta Writing Challenge and the Rule of Three

"What's turducken?" asked Alex.

I told him it was a chicken stuffed inside a duck stuffed inside a turkey.

"Hmmm," he mused. "There would still be room for a mouse inside the chicken."

This is my weekend entry for the TrifectaWritingChallenge. Check it out - it's a lot of fun. This weekend we had to do a 33-word piece using the Rule of Three. (Turducken photo source: Wiki).

BTW, sorry I have been MIA for a bit. I inherited a new baby! He is adorable and a lot of work!

  4. My husband and I were talking with myparents about Thanksgiving one year and I brought up the Turducken, of which they had never heard. One thing lewd to another, and we all broke out into fits of hysterical, crying laughter! I still cannot help but grin whenever I hear the word.

    Thanks for the big smile!

    1. Thanks FKC. You are right - the whole thing is funny in the first place without even adding the mouse :)

  8. Congrats on your new addition, wondering about the "inherited" part, but however they come, aren't they great?

That your son actually said this makes it all the cuter. Of course, the idea of Turducken reminds me of Tofurkey, which is vegan turkey for Thanksgiving... my daughter says, "Who would be thankful for that? YUCK." Great entry! Amy

  9. I know what a turduken is but the comments make me think of the nursery rhyme, There was an Old Lady who swallowed a fly...

  10. I agree with Debbie - I was thinking the Old Lady who swallowed a fly too! This dish redefines "stuffing" :)
